As American lifestyles change so does the need for bedrooms. Maybe you’d like a library or sewing room instead?
Well, I’m here to tell you tax folks it’s time you rethought your prejudices. What with the rising stats on divorcing and never-marrying, more and more homeowners are going to be single, and singles have little need for all those bedrooms.
Some friends of mine started out with a snug three-bedroom brick ranch and, through years of careful additions, improvements and alterations, have managed to turn it into a sprawling one-bedroom brick ranch.
Of course, they also have a TV room, an indoor spa, a library and one honkin’ walk-in closet.
